The purpose of this document is to promote Aboriginal people and their culture. At Our Lady of Mount Carmel we strongly believe that Aboriginal people and perspectives are imperative to creating a more unified and inclusive society. We want to place a greater emphasis on Aboriginal perspectives in our classrooms and with the wider school and Hilton community.
OLMC acknowledges that a goal of the Catholic school is that students should learn about their value as human persons from the time they enter a Catholic school community. This principle influences every level of the school’s life so that students learn about their own dignity and value as a human person. The care and attention they receive from all within the school will help them realise these fundamental principles.
