Combined OLMC and St Pat’s Building Resilience Parent Workshop

With guidance of school councillor our Years 1-6 students are being introduced to program called. Highway Hero’s. They are currently working on a module which covers "connecting for friendship" and "playground resilience and wisdom". This teaches kids how to assertive, communicate their needs/ feels and to also learn, when to move on. The founder of this program Clare Orange, came to Our Lady of Mt Carmel School do a talk for parents on helping your child to build up their resilience reserves. Kids like all of us, have to learn "life always doesn't go our way". Not everyone wins a race, someone does have to come last. I didn't get pick to join the team, I never get to read at events.... AND THAT IS OK. We can't all be good at everything, nor do we get to do everything. Clare will help us as parents to help our kids to develop the skills they need, deal with those road bumps that life throws our way, dust ourselves off and move on.
